Keeping your toilet clean can be a daunting task. This is not a one-time solution and you have to routinely turn this into a headache. But does it need to be a headache?
There are some simple hacks and natural remedies that will keep your toilet clean. With these handy tips, you no longer have to conduct cleaning sessions every other day!
Stains and Spots
Some of the major points of annoyance are the stains and spots. Because toilets are places that are a habitat for water, there is nothing you can do.
Irons coming in contact with water will stain. It will leave behind a reddish-brown mark that is quite difficult to take off. To start with, you can invest in stainless steel accessories.
It doesn’t always have to be stainless steel. Let’s take the Leafology Decorative Drainage Soap Holder for example. It is made of plastic and the base is made of rubber. It will never leave a stain behind. Some of you have already purchased it, and for those who didn’t, check out the other items we offer in our portfolio.
Spots. These are water residues that are left behind for a prolonged period of time and have dried up to become rings.
The most logical and easy remedy is to have a dry towel in the bathroom. As soon as any surface gets wet, wipe it off and don’t let it dry.
But who has time to do that every time they use the bathroom?
Well, there is another solution for you. Make a mixture of lemon and salt with hot water. Pour them on the ring spots and let it settle there for an hour. Come back, pour water and voila. Your appliances are as good as new.
Don’t want to make that mixture of lemon, salt, and hot water? No problem. Buy Kool-Aid and pour it on the rings. Let it rest there for an hour. Come back and rinse it off.
Keep a Spray Jet
These are a bit popular with the Arabs and the Asians, but we Brits should learn to use them too. Some jet sprays release water with brilliant force. This will work like the power washers you see in your nearby car wash (ok, maybe not that strong but the mechanism is the same). These will try to remove any mark or strains as soon as the water hits the surface.
However, if it doesn’t work, you are already an expert with your lemon, Kool-Aid, and toothbrush!
